If you notice any activity in the environment that may affect water quality, contact one of the following agencies to report it.
If the occurrence is in the Owasco Lake Watershed, contact the Owasco Lake Watershed Inspection Program at 315-427-5188 or use the online form.
If the occurrence is in the Skaneateles Lake Watershed, contact the Skaneateles Lake Watershed Inspection Program at 315-685-6486.
If you notice any activity in the environment outside of the Owasco Lake and Skaneateles Lake Watersheds, contact the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) as follows:
- To report a petroleum or chemical spill, call the NYS Spill Hotline at 1-800-457-7362.
- To report all other water quality concerns or complaints:
- During regular business hours call NYSDEC at 315-427-7500
- During non-business hours call NYSDEC 24/7 at 1-844-DEC-ECOS
- Use NYSDEC’s online form.
